Cylinder Head Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification






Tighten the cylinder head bolts - 1 through 12 - in the sequence shown as follows:






Then, tighten the bolts - 13 - to 10 Nm.






Bolt Re-usability

Replace the cylinder head bolts.






Checking the Cylinder Head for Warpage





Check the cylinder head in several places for warpage using a straight edge and a feeler gauge.

Maximum permissible warpage: 0.05 mm

If this value is exceeded, the cylinder head must be replaced. It is not permissible to rework the sealing surface.






Guide Frame

Bolt 8 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn.

Always replace.
