Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1410)

Trim Removal Wedge (VAS 3409)

When removing and installing components in a visible area (switches, covers, trims, etc.), use commercially available adhesive tape to mask off the areas at which a prying tool ( (VAS 3409) , screwdriver) will be positioned.

When disconnecting and connecting the battery, always perform the work procedure as described in the repair information. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Service and Repair.

Removal

- Disconnect the battery. Refer to=> [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Service and Repair.

- Remove the storage compartment on the driver side.

- Insert a screwdriver or the (VAS 3409) into the cut-out - 2 - and pry up the side cover - 1 - of the instrument panel in the - direction of the arrow -.






- Remove the fuse assignment card - 1 - from the fuse panel - 2 -.






- Unscrew both mounting bolts - arrows - and guide the fuse panel - 1 - inward while paying attention to the connected wires.

Installation

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Tighten the mounting bolts of the fuse panel to 3 Nm.
