Left Engine Compartment E-Box

Always follow the instructions in the Repair Information exactly when disconnecting and connecting the battery. Refer to battery in engine compartment => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Service and Repair or battery in luggage compartment => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Service and Repair.

Removing

- Disconnect the battery. Refer to battery in engine compartment => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Service and Repair or battery in luggage compartment => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Service and Repair.

- Press the catches in - direction of arrow - and remove the cover from the E-box - 1 -.






- Disconnect the wires - 2 -.






- Remove the wires from the connecting pins.

- Press the tabs - arrows - on the relay and fuse panel - 1 -.






- Remove the relay and fuse panel - 1 - from the E-box.

With Diesel Engine

- Pull the engine control module (J623) - 4 - and bracket off the E-box - 1 -.






With Gasoline Engine

- Pull the engine control module (J623) - 4 - and bracket off the E-box - 1 -

Continued for All Vehicles

- Remove the screws - 2 - from the E-box - 1 -.

- Remove the E-box - 1 - from the vehicle.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Tighten the threaded connections to the tightening specification. Refer to => [ Left E-box In the Engine Compartment Tightening Specification ] [1][2]Fuse Block.

Then check whether the cover - 2 - of the e-box is correctly engaged.
