Transmission Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair






Transmission Input Speed Sensor G182 and Clutch Oil Temperature Sensor G509

Both sensors are a single component and can only be replaced together. They are coated with oil in the transmission near the Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG(R)) clutch. Before removing, the Mechatronic unit must be removed.

Often, the sensor wire is pulled. It will get damaged. If the wire was pulled, the sensor must be replaced.

Removing

- Remove the Mechatronic unit. Refer to one of the following:

Do not pull on the wire.

- Remove the bolt and carefully pry out the sensor with a screwdriver or pliers.






Installing

Only install the old sensor if:

The sensor is working correctly.

The wire was not pulled on during removal.

- Coat the sensor with DSG(R) oil and then install it.

- Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm.

- Install the Mechatronic unit. Refer to one of the following:

=> [ DSG(R) Transmission Mechatronic J743, Transmission Removed ] DSG(R) Transmission Mechatronic J743, Transmission Removed.

Do not pinch the wire when installing the Mechatronic unit!
