Maintenance Required Lamp/Indicator: Service and Repair

A service indicator lamp, located on the instrument cluster, will illuminate for approximately 2 minutes after engine start up at 5,000 mile (8,000 km) intervals to indicate need for engine oil change. After changing engine oil, the lamp may be reset by removing the instrument panel as follows:
1. Remove the two plastic access covers located on the lower LH and RH side of the instrument cluster.
2. Remove the instrument cluster retaining screws and remove the cluster assembly.
3. Depress the reset knob on the rear of the instrument cluster, Fig. 417.
4. Reinstall instrument cluster.
5. Turn on ignition and verify that the maintenance light does not illuminate.
