Improved Sunroof Drainage
Customer complaints of water leakage from the sunroof can be addressed with the following procedures. Further modifications will also be made in production models during the first half of 1990 to ensure that the sunroof is perfectly sealed.
The splash-guard and corner drain pipes will be sealed with Hotmelt sealing compound.
The height of the gutter flange will be raised.
The sunroof will be fitted with a new type of weatherstripping.
Commence by removing the sunroof Check to ensure that the contour of the gutter located at the front of the sunroof is the same as the adjoining roof panel. If necessary, adjust by carefully and gently bending the gutter by hand or with the use of a hammer handle as shown in the illustration.
Note: Do not damage the gutter.
Attach rubber strip, P/N 3538716-6, to gutter flange. The strip is supplied in perpared lengths.
Place bead of sealing compound, P/N 277253-1 at gutter outlet at each side as shown in the illustration and indicated by (2).
Reinstall the sunroof
