Neutral Safety Switch: Service and Repair




Neutral Safety Switch / Start Inhibitor Switch Removal and Installation.

NOTE: For additional information regarding the Removal and Installation of the Neutral Safety Switch / Start Inhibitor Switch, please refer to Vehicle /Transmission and Drivetrain /Automatic Transmission/Transaxle /Shift Lever Housing / Service and Repair.






Remove the ashtray and the panel in the center console.

Remove the holder with the gear position symbols.

Remove the start inhibitor / reversing light switch.

- Separate the connector. Lift out the start inhibitor / reversing light switch.

Fit the new start inhibitor / reversing light switch.






- Put the connector together. Make sure that the stud on the gear selector lever enters the slot in the start inhibitor / reversing light switch. Don't forget the prism (A).

Put the panel and the ashtray back.
