Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Rear

Tool Required
^ 951 2050 Angle Gauge

NOTE: The following example describes the adjustment of both sides.

1. Loosen the nuts connecting the transverse arm mountings to both trailing arms. Adjust, moving the transverse arms in their mountings (forwards or backwards) until the correct value is obtained.
2. Tighten one of the bolts on each transverse arm mounting to secure it to the other trailing arm.
3. Replace the other bolts and nuts on both transverse arm mountings (which are not tightened) with new ones. Tighten the nuts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.) and angle-tighten to 120°. Use angle gauge.
4. Then replace the two tightened transverse arm mounting bolts and nuts. Tighten the nuts to the same torque as above.
