Transmission Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

1. Remove battery cables and battery.
2. Remove air cleaner with intake manifold.
3. Remove battery tray.
4. Remove air cleaner bracket.
5. Disassemble transaxle connector.
6. Detach oil sensor wiring pins from connector socket.
7. Remove under-engine protective cover.
8. Drain oil from transaxle and insert oil plug with new seal. Torque plug to 30 ft. lbs.
9. Remove sensor.
10. Apply vaseline to O-ring of new sensor and install new sensor.
11. Push wiring pins into socket.
12. Install protective cover under engine.
13. Assemble connector wiring sockets in connector casing.
14. Install connector in vehicle.
15. Install air cleaner bracket, battery tray and air cleaner with intake manifold and connections.
16. Install battery.
