Fault message conditions:
The fault message is logged if voltage Is above 1.2 V.

Causes of fault:
Break at the GND point on the Intake manifold.

Fault symptoms:
If the break is intermittent the engine will stop or run rough.

MFI #17 No power GND

Fault message conditions:
The fault message is logged If voltage is above 1.2 V when engine speed is below 2500 rpm.

Causes of fault:
Break at the GND point on the intake manifold.

Fault symptoms:
The engine will not start.
If the break is intermittent the engine will stop or run rough.

- Disconnect the ST In accordance with QA2. QA. Connecting The Volvo Scan Tool (ST)
- Connect the test box to MFI and check the GND points in accordance with P1-P2. P. Test Box, Signal Description
Check the MFI#5 and MFI#17 very carefully.

If the reading is OK when checking the GND points:
Intermittent fault.
