Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Adjustments

PREPARATION

1. Unclip Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) lead from transmission member and oil pan and open HO2S connectors.





2. Remove front exhaust pipe.
3. Remove front heat shield.
4. Ensure that gear selector lever is in neutral (position N).

ADJUST SENSOR

1. Slacken sensor enough to turn it sideways.





2. Mount gauge 999 5475 on gear selector shaft outside nut.
3. Turn sensor until mark on tool is opposite boss on sensor as illustrated.
4. Tighten adjusting screw to 13 Nm (1O ft lb).





5. Install heat shield and exhaust pipe.
6. Reconnect HO2S connectors. Secure wiring to transmission member and oil pan.
7. Erase Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) (if any).
