Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Service and Repair

CHECKING THE CRANKCASE VENTILATION SYSTEM





Remove:
^ Throttle pulley cover
^ Inlet hose from Air Cleaner (bend forward).





Check Flame Trap
^ Remove flame trap by twisting casing 15 mm (0.6 inch) to the left (bayonet joint).
^ Replace flame trap.
^ Clean hoses by blowing compressed air into crankcase ventilation.
^ Change engine oil.

NOTE: Do not disconnect hoses from flame trap casing. Altering the position of hoses can affect the function of the throttle.





Install Flame Trap
^ Reinstall flame trap and casing in inlet hose.
^ Reinstall all components.
