Seat Temperature Control Module: Service and Repair


Removing

WARNING: Seats with SIPS bag must always have the transport safety device installed in order to avoid accidentally activating the system when working on the seat.

HHC1 Preparations
- Make a note of radio code if anti-theft coded radio is installed.
- Remove battery negative lead.
- Cars with SIPS airbag: install the safety device for the SIPS bag.
- Remove seat from car.

HHC2 Removing the control module




- Disconnect the four connectors from the control module.





- Remove the tie-strap holding the mounting plate in position.
- Unhook control module fixing plate at front edge.
- Lift fixing plate clear at front edge and remove control module.

HHC3 Reinstalling
Reinstall in reverse order.
Check that the new control module has P/N 9174902 (for the left seat) or 9174903 (for the right seat).

- Reinstall the seat.
- Cars with SIPS airbag: remove the safety device.
- Replace battery negative lead.

HHC4 Programming the memory functions
The new control module must be programmed with the positions for memory functions 1, 2 and 3. Otherwise diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) PSL/PSR-323, PSL/PSR-322 or PSL/PSR-321 may be posted.
