Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Adjustments



Gear Position Sensor, Checking/Adjustment
Special tool: 999 5475

NOTE: First, check that control rod is correctly adjusted.





- Unclip HO2S lead from transmission member and oil pan and open HO2S connectors.
- Remove front exhaust pipe.
- Remove front heat shield.
- Ensure that gear selector lever is in neutral (position N)
- Loosen sensor enough to turn it sideways. Mount gauge 999 5475 on gear selector shaft outside nut.





- Turn sensor until mark on tool is opposite boss on sensor as illustrated.
- Tighten adjusting screw to 13 Nm (10 ft lb).





- Reconnect HO2S connectors. Secure wiring to transmission member and oil pan.
- Erase DTCs (if any)
