VGLA central locking and alarm system

Introduction
The C70 has the same type system as the S70/V70. There are certain differences in the components used in the system.
Central locking is standard as in the S70/V70. Other components/functions are standard/options/accessories depending on the market.

Differences between the VGLA in the C70 and S70/V70
The control module with adapted hardware (different control module P/N).
There are no central locking motors for the rear doors and no switch on the tailgate handle.
The C70 is a two door car and has no external handle on the tailgate.
Mass Movement Sensor for monitoring the passenger compartment.
Replaces the glass breakage sensor and/or ultrasonic sensors.

Mass Movement Sensor
Consists of a control module with an integral antenna.
The MMS transmits high frequency radio waves and detects the frequency of the waves that bounce back.
If something moves in the passenger compartment the difference between the transmitted and received frequency will change. The sensor then transmits an alarm signal to the VGLA control module.
As the MMS works with high frequency radio waves it is not as sensitive as an ultrasonic sensor. An object with mass must move in the passenger compartment before the sensor reacts. It does not react to air movement as an ultrasonic sensor will.
The MMS may need to be temporarily disabled (in the same way as the ultrasonic sensors in the S70/V70).
