Checking the cable




- Check control module connector A for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault and contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
- Engine running.
- Read off the status of the parking brake.
- Apply and release the parking brake.
The status should change from activation (parking brake applied) to non activation (parking brake released).
There is a short-circuit to ground if the status is constantly active.
There is an open-circuit if the status is not active.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Reinstall components, reconnect connectors etc.
- Speed < 4 km/h
- The trunk lid is closed
- Parking brake released
- Engine running.
Activate the control switch for convertible top operation.
It should not be possible to operate the convertible top.
Apply the parking brake.
Activate the control switch for convertible top operation.
It should be possible to operate the convertible top.

Does the convertible top function correctly?
