Replacing Seat Assembly




Replacing Seat Assembly:

Seat Removal:

Secure the SIPS Airbag:






WARNING: The SIPS-bag must always be secured when work on the seat may cause deployment.

Secure the SIPS-bag as follows:

- Remove side compartment (A) by lifting the front edge and pressing backwards.






- Remove the transport deactivator from the holder on the inside of the control panel.
- Install the transport deactivator in the sensor module.

Other Preparations:






Make a note of radio code if anti-theft coded radio is in-stalled.

Remove:

- battery negative lead (disconnect).
- head restraint.
- panel in front of screw.
- the screw with the washers and remove the seat belt from the seat belt rail.






- panels (B) over seat rails.
- 4 securing screws (C) in seat rails.
- connector to heater pad and control module (under seat).

Lift seat straight up (locating pins in front and rear edges).

Installing Seat:

Installing:

Install in reverse order.

NOTE: First tighten the rear inner screw. Continue with both front screws and tighten the rear outer screw last. Failure to do so may result in the seat being incorrectly installed.

Tighten the nuts retaining the seat and the floor to 40 Nm (29.52 ft lb).

Unsecuring the SIPS Airbag:

Remove the transport deactivator from the sensor module and replace it inside the control panel.
