Checking compression








- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the engine speed (RPM) sensor.
- Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor.
- Remove spark plug.
- Carry out a compression test at wide open throttle (WOT) and turn the starter motor.
Normal value 1.3 - 1.5 MPa (13 - 15 kp/cm2) with engine at operating temperature





Is compression OK?

Yes - Checking EGR system.
No Fault Found

No - Repair as necessary - Engine repairs

- Carry out necessary repairs.

Select "Continue" when the fault has been repaired.

Hint: After carrying out the repair check that the fault has been remedied. Carry out the following:








- Ignition off.

Yes - FAULT FOUND

No - Fault-tracing information

The fault should be diagnosed and remedied. Since this is not the case the fault-tracing process has failed.
Complete the fault-tracing for those fault or try again.
