Procedures

NOTE: Avoid skin contact with transmission fluid!





1. Preparation
- Remove:
Battery
Air Cleaner Housing (ACL) complete with intake pipe.
Battery shelf Detach:
ACL bracket.





2. Separation of connector halves
- Remember rubber gasket.
- Detach connector from transmission.
- Remove cable clamps around wiring and rubber seal.
- Remove sockets from connector casing.
- Insert screwdriver between casing and socket and press catch in.
At the same time slide the sockets out of the casing.





3. Remove:
- Remove socket for cables to oil temperature sensor.
2-pin, pins 12 and 13.





4. Remove:
- Detach cables' pins from socket.
- Push in locking device beneath socket and push out red lock lug slightly.





5. Removal of splashguard under engine
- Empty oil from transmission and reinstall oil plug with new seal.
Tighten to: 40 Nm.





6. Removal of sensor
- Clean thoroughly round sensor.
- Remove sensor.
- Collect oil in a container.
7. Installation of new sensor
- Install new sensor.
- Rub some Vaseline on sensor O-ring.
- Tighten to: 25 Nm.





8. Remove the cables pins from socket.
- Push in locking device beneath socket and push out red lock lug slightly.
9. Installation:
- Lift up cables between oil cooler hose and control system cover.
- Reinstall splashguard under engine.
- Route the cables under gear position sensor.
- Take care not to damage the cables.





10. Reconnect cables to socket;
- Pin 12: blue/red cable
- Pin 13: blue/black cable
- Check pins are correctly positioned in socket.





11. Reconnect connector halves.
- Make sure rubber seal is in place.
- Install cable clamps round cable harness and rubber seal.
- Reinstall connector on transmission.
- Plug in connector from car. Remember rubber gasket.





12. Reinstall:
- ACL bracket.
- Battery shelf
- ACL with intake pipe and connections.
- Battery
- Top up oil and test refer to Checking/Adjusting Oil Level. Testing and Inspection
13. Checking DTCs
