0. ABS-423, ABS-431, ABS-442, ABS-444

ABS-423 Inlet valve TRACS, fault in the valve terminal circuit
ABS-431 Control module, general hardware fault
ABS-442 Control module, creeping power
ABS-444 Control module, internal valve reference voltage

Condition

DTC ABS-423

If the TRACS inlet valve circuit in the control module is short circuited to ground~current or if there is a break in the circuit, the control module will interpret this as a fault and fault code ABS-423 is posted.

DTCs ABS-431, ABS-444, ABS-442

If the control module registers that there is a break or short circuit in any of the control module's internal circuits DTCs ABS-431, ABS-444 and ABS-442 are posted.

Substitute value

- ABS/TRACS is disabled.
- EBD is disabled.

Possible source

- Interference, noise etc. which disrupts the control module calculations.
- Defective control module.

Fault symptom(s)

- If the ABS/EBD systems are disabled, there is a risk of the wheels (especially the rear wheels) locking when braking.
- In cars with TRACS, the anti-wheelslip system cuts out.

- Disconnect the Volvo System Tester to abort the diagnosis

Warning! The ABS and EBD systems are not available while Volvo Diagnostics is activated. Take great care when test driving as there is a serious risk of the wheels locking when braking

- Note the DTC status
