Signal too high. Permanent Fault





Checking The Injector
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect injector. Connect an ohmmeter between injector connector terminals 1 and 2.
- The ohmmeter should read approx. 16 ohms at +20°C.

If reading is OK:
^ Check cable between injector terminal 2 and engine control module (ECM) # A10 (EFI-115), # A38 (EFI125), # A24 (EFI-135), # A23 (EFI-145), # A9 (EFI-155) for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
^ Then proceed to Verification section below.

If reading is incorrect:
^ Try a new injector.
^ Then proceed to Verification section below.





Verification
- After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied as follows.
- Ignition on.
- Activate relevant injector.
- A "clicking" sound should be heard from the injector when it is activated.
- Is the injector working?

Yes:
^ Fault corrected.

No:
^ Proceed to test step below.


Fault-tracing Information
The verification result shows that the fault persists.

- Do you want to exit fault-tracing?

Yes:
^ Fault not corrected.

No:
^ Return to Checking the Injector section above.
