JJ. Checking Central Locking Motor, Trunk Lid (4-Door)
JJA. Fault Tracing
Condition
No diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored.
Possible Source
Open-circuit in control cables to central locking motor.
Faulty central locking motor.
Start fault-tracing with JJB.
JJB1. Activating Lock Motor
Ignition on.
Use the Activation function to activate the central locking motor in the trunk lid.
Is the trunk lid central locking motor activated?
Yes: Fault not found
No: Go to JJB2.
JJB2. Checking Connectors
Disconnect the VGLA control module .
Remove trunk lid lining.
Check VGLA control module connector and trunk lid lock unit connector for contact resistance and oxidation according to WWA5 WW. Checking Wiring and Connections
Ignition on.
Use the Activation function to activate the central locking motor in the trunk lid.
If the trunk lid central locking motor is activated the cause of the fault has been loose connections in the connectors.
Is the trunk lid central locking motor activated?
Yes: Fault corrected
No: Go to JJB3.
JJB3. Checking Cables
Check cable between VGLA control module #A14 and trunk lid lock unit connector terminal 2 and cable between trunk lid lock unit connector terminal 4 and ground for an open-circuit according to WWA2 WW. Checking Wiring and Connections
Were any faults found in the cables?
Yes: Go to JJB5.
No: Go to JJB4.
JJB4. Replacing Component
Replace lock unit in trunk lid according to service and repair.
Then continue with JJB5.
JJB5. Verification
Hint: After carrying out the repair check that the fault has been remedied.
Ignition off.
Reconnect connectors, reinstall components.
Ignition on.
Use the Activation function to activate the central locking motor in the trunk lid.
Is the trunk lid central locking motor activated?
Yes: Fault corrected
No: Fault not found
