LL. Checking Signal From Door Switch, Trunk Lid
LLA. Fault Tracing
Condition
No diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored.
Possible Source
Short-circuit to ground in trunk lid door switch signal cable
Faulty door switch in trunk lid.
Start fault-tracing with LLB.
LLB1. Checking Signal From Door Switch, Trunk Lid
Ignition on.
Trunk lid/tailgate closed.
Go into scrolling values.
Read off the trunk lid door switch status.
The value should be HIGH when the trunk lid is closed.
Is the value HIGH?
Yes: Fault not found
No: Go to LLB2.
LLB2. Checking For A Short-Circuit
Check cable between VGLA control module #A19 and lock unit in trunk lid/tailgate terminal 1 for a short-circuit to ground according to WWA3 WW. Checking Wiring and Connections
Were any faults found in the cables?
Yes: Go to LLB4..
No: GO to LLB3.
LLB3. Replacing Component
Replace trunk lid lock unit.
Then continue with LLB4.
LLB4. Verification
Hint: After carrying out the repair check that the fault has been remedied.
Ignition off.
Reconnect connectors, reinstall components.
Ignition on.
Trunk lid/tailgate open.
Go into scrolling values.
Read off the trunk lid/tailgate door switch status.
The value should be LOW when the trunk lid/tailgate is open.
Is the value LOW?
Yes: Fault corrected
No: Fault not found
