Replacement of Condenser




TTTP1 Before starting work on condenser

NOTE! Read the sections covering slow and quick leaks first according to BG1 Service and Repair


NOTE! When replacing the condenser always install new O rings in pipes and quick-release connectors. Always plug pipes and connections when working on the climate control unit.


Replacement of condenser







TTTP2 Removing condenser
- First read TTTP1.
- Disconnect battery negative lead.
- Drain system of refrigerant according to BD and BF. (See above)
- Remove suction intake hose and intermediate section between fan shroud nozzle and filter.

- Remove fresh air intake to control module box



TTTP4






- Detach relays from the relay shelf.
- Remove relay shelf and spacer washers.
- Detach fan shroud and lower it to the rear against the engine.


TTTP5






- Raise car.
- Remove air baffle between spoiler and frame member.
- Undo screws on the cooling unit so that it can be lowered and angled in against the engine.
- Lower car.


TTTP6






- Undo the upper screws on the condenser.
- Remove cover plate.
- Raise car.
- Disconnect pipe connections from condenser.
- Undo the lower screws on the condenser.
- Remove condenser.


TTTP7 Installing condenser
- In reverse order.
- Tightening torque 25 ± 6 Nm (19 ± 4 ft.lb).
