Checking Programming of Passenger Compartment Filter (ECC)

Checking Programming of Passenger Compartment Ventilation Filter (ECC)

NOTE: If the car has a passenger compartment ventilation filter the control module must be programmed with this information. This causes the control module to increase blower fan speeds and the air flow to compensate for the resistance from the filter unit. If the control module is not&/emph; programmed for a passenger compartment ventilation filter&/emph; when there is a filter installed, the air flow will be reduced as will the efficiency of the demisting of the interior of the windows, however the noise levels from the blower fan will be slightly lower. If however the control module is programmed for a passenger compartment ventilation filter&/emph; and the filter is not installed, this will cause a higher air flow which can make demisting of the interior glass easier, but also gives a slightly higher noise level.

- Remove panel over blower fan air intake.
- Check whether the climate control unit is equipped with a passenger compartment ventilation filter.
- Ignition on.
- Use Programming function to read out and program passenger compartment ventilation filter if installed.

Read off passenger compartment ventilation filter programming. Make a note of the value. If the programming is not correct, program in the correct version.
