Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.

- Ignition on
- Read off status of D+ signal from generator (GEN). Make a note of the status
- Start engine.
- Read off status of D+ signal from generator (GEN). With ignition on the status should be OFF and with engine at idling speed (generator (GEN) charging) the status should be ON.


NOTE: If the charging system is malfunctioning then carry out fault-tracing on the charging system first.


Check the status reading is correct.
