Supplementary Restraint System (SRS), Inspection

The Following Parts Must Always Be Replaced
- Steering wheel module.
- Passenger module (it applicable).
- Steering wheel.
- Contact reel.
- Sensor module (see separate instructions below).
- Seat belt buckle and seat belt tensioner on both sides (seat belt unit).
- SRS ignition cabling to passenger module (if applicable).

The Following Parts Must Be Checked And Replaced If Damaged
- The windshield and its moulding (Note: Must be PUR sealed if replaced). Carefully remove any broken glass.
- Knee bolsters/brackets.
- Dashboard and frame.
- Panels under the dashboard.
- Loudspeakers (dashboard).

The Sensor Module Should Always Be Replaced If
- Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-112 is stored.
- The DTC cannot be cleared when the car has been repaired, i.e. there is still a fault in the sensor module.
- The sensor module is mechanically damaged.
- There is mechanical damage to the floor of the car in the area of the sensor module, which could weaken the sensor module mountings. Remove the sensor module and check that its mountings are not cracked.

NOTE: DTC SRS-112 should not be cleared, the sensor module should be returned to Volvo in accordance with current procedures.
