- Check door warning lamp connector for contact resistance and oxidation as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault. Check especially for damage.
- Connect the connectors, install the components, etc.
- Ignition on.
Open door and check that door warning lamp comes on.

Checking for a short circuit
Check the wire between door control unit 7A and door warning lamp 1 for a short circuit to ground as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
If a fault is found, replace the wire.

Check bulb socket for a short circuit.
Do the necessary corrective action.
If no fault is found, replace door warning lamp as described in Bulb, warning lamp, side door, replacing Service and Repair.
