14-pin connector
Replacing cable terminals: The same type is available as 8-,10-, 13- and 14 pin connectors
Separating the connector halves
- Press in the catch on the socket housing and separate the connector halves.
- If necessary use terminal removal tool951 2812 Terminal removal tool 951 2812 Terminal Removal Tool.
Caution! Never pull on the cables when separating. Use the terminal removal tool.
Extract the cable terminal, pin housing
- Release the front housing section on the pin housing by pulling the rear catches while at the same time pressing the housing section forwards.

Extract the cable terminal, socket housing
- Release the front housing section on the socket housing by lifting the catches from the front and pulling the housing section forwards.
- Remove the cable terminal, see Using terminal removal tools Using Terminal Removal Tools.

Crimp new cable terminal
- Strip the cable see Stripping the cable Stripping the Cable.
- Replace cable terminal. Selecting cable terminal, see New cable terminal New Cable Terminal.
Hint: The following cable terminals are available for the relevant pin housing: 916 8519, 916 8517, 916 8527, 916 8529, 916 8533, 916 8537.
The following cable terminals are available for the relevant socket housing: 916 8518, 916 8526, 916 8528, 916 8532, 916 8534, 916 536.
- Carry out a single wire seal on the cable terminal, see Seal sws and plug Seal SWS and Plug.
- Crimp cable terminal, see Crimping a cable terminal Crimping a Cable Terminal.
Insert the new cable terminal in the housing
- Insert the new cable terminal in the receptacle housing from the cable side (in the correct position). A click is heard when it hooks into place.
- Carefully pull on the cables to check that the terminal is firmly attached.
Reassemble the connector
- Release the front housing sections of the pin and socket housings.
- Assemble the connector halves.
