DTC ECM-9520




Condition
The engine control module (ECM) has registered a fault in the pulse width modulated signal from the accelerator pedal (AP). Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-9520 is stored in the engine control module (ECM).

Substitute value
- the accelerator pedal (AP) is ignored when braking
- slow response during acceleration.

Possible source

Signal too high:
- short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable.

Signal too low:
- short-circuit to ground in the signal cable
- defective accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor.

Signal missing:
- open-circuit in the signal cable
- loose connections
- defective accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor.

Faulty signal:
- defective accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor
- defective engine control module (ECM)
- defective throttle unit.

Fault symptom[s]
- the accelerator pedal (AP) is ignored when braking
- slow response during acceleration
- the ETS warning lamp lights (C70 and S/V70 - 2000 only).
