DTC ECM-980F

Condition







Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is ECM-980F is stored if the engine control module (ECM) detects that the mass air flow (MAF) sensor or the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor deviates too much from the calculated value.

Substitute value
- cruise control shut off
- fuel shut-off system based on the accelerator pedal (AP) position
- throttle closure when braking.

Possible source

Faulty signal:
- the exhaust camshaft has jumped off the cogs
- air leak downstream of the mass air flow (MAF) sensor
- defective manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor
- defective mass air flow (MAF) sensor
- defective engine control module (ECM).

Fault symptom[s]
- uneven idle
- malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
