Blower Motor Resistor: Service and Repair






Blower Fan Motor / Power Unit (Blower Motor Resistor), Replacing

Fan motor

Removal





Remove:
- the sill trim panel. See Front door sill trim panel Front Door Sill Trim Panel
- the soundproofing panel. See Soundproofing panel, replacing Soundproofing Panel, Replacing
- side panel on the center console. See Center console, replacing Center Console, Replacing
- the glove compartment. See Glove compartment, replacing, B5244T5, B5254T2 Service and Repair
- any mounting hooks for child seats
- detach the drain hoses from the engine and the filter housing. Move the drain hoses to one side
- detach the floor carpet at the front. Fold the carpet back.




Engine

Remove:
- disconnect the connector
- the 5 screws for the blower fan motor
- detach and remove the blower fan motor.

Engine





Remove:
- the connector
- detach the cover from the motor
- the 2 screws on top
- press and pull out the motor and fan hub. Use a screwdriver for example.

Installation
Install in reverse order.

Power unit

Removal





Remove:
- the blower fan motor with the fan hub as above, see Fan motor

Remove:
- the power unit, 2 screws.

Installation
Install in reverse order.
