Needle valve, service valve, replacing

Service valve (at the member) and needle valve

Removal
- Disconnect the battery negative lead. See Battery, replacing Battery, Replacing
- Drain the refrigerant from the system. See Refrigerant, draining Refrigerant, Draining.
- Remove the pipe between the expansion valve and the junction point / side member. See Pipes / hoses, replacing Pipes/Hoses, Replacing.

Installation

Removal




- Remove the valve cap
- Unscrew the needle jet. Use special tool 951 1204 REMOVAL TOOL 951 1204 Removal Tool.

Installation
Install in reverse order.
Note! Use only your thumb and index finger when tightening the service valve using the valve needle tool 981 1994 Valve needle wrench 981 1994 Valve Needle Wrench. This is to prevent damage to the seal for the valve.

- Vacuum pump the system and leak test. See Refrigerant, draining Refrigerant, Draining
- Fill the system with refrigerant and check for leaks. See Refrigerant, draining Refrigerant, Draining
- Connect the battery negative lead. See Battery, replacing Battery, Replacing
Tighten the valve cap. Tighten to 6 Nm
