Checking the ignition spark




- Ignition off
- Remove an ignition coil. Leave the wiring in place
- Install a new spark plug in the ignition coil. Place it against the engine
- Ignition on.

Caution! Never activate a ignition coil which is installed on the engine. Engine damage may be caused if there is a fuel in the cylinder.Check carefully that only the dismounted coil is activated. The cylinder order is calculated from the camshaft gears.

Activate the relevant ignition coil.

Yes - Verification

No - No Fault Found

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reconnect connectors, reinstall components
- Engine running
- Read off the misfire counters
Hint: If a counter is not 0, the misfire is on that cylinder.





Is any cylinder misfiring?

Yes - VERIFICATION FAILED

No - VERIFIED
