Description
ECM DTC P261000 "Engine shut down timer performance" is not a MIL illuminating fault and, may be set in the above vehicles, if the "engine off" time calculated in the CEM (Central Electrical Module) does not agree with the "engine off" time calculated by the ECM (Engine Control Module).

This is most often caused by the internal clock in the CEM being reset; either, when it is de-powered, or a download is made to any of the control units in the vehicle, or the vehicle is in transport mode.

A software upgrade is available that incorporates changes preventing detection of faults with these normal conditions.
