Description of parameters

Parameters, status

Subscription, status
Check whether the control module has Volvo On Call or not and whether the subscription is OK or not.
Telephone = Phone module (PHM) cannot have Volvo On Call.
Volvo On Call = Phone module (PHM) has Volvo On Call and the subscription is active.
Subscription deactivated = Phone module (PHM) has Volvo On Call but a deactivated subscription.

Handset, cradle signal, status
The handset is located in the center console under the cover.
Handset on = The control module senses that the handset is in its cradle.
Handset off = The control module senses that the handset is not in its cradle.

Parameters, value

Power supply
The parameter indicates the power supply to the phone module (PHM). The phone module (PHM) has a +30-supply.
Measurement range 0-66 V.
The normal value at ignition and with the engine running should be approximately 12 V (battery voltage).

Temperature unit
The parameter indicates the internal temperature in the phone module (PHM).
Measurement range -127- 127 °C.
The normal temperature is approximately 70 °C but may vary depending on whether the air conditioning (A/C) or heater is in use.

GPS Received position, latitude (Volvo On Call)
The parameter is used by the phone module (PHM) with the Volvo On Call function. The phone module (PHM) receives the signal from the multimedia module (MMM) or if there is no multimedia module (MMM), the phone module (PHM) receives the GPS signal itself.
This parameter displays the latitude of the last received position of the vehicle.
The phone module (PHM) transmits the signal together with other vehicle data when a Volvo On Call service is activated.

GPS Received position, longitude (Volvo On Call)
The parameter is used by the phone module (PHM) with the Volvo On Call function. The phone module (PHM) receives the signal from the multimedia module (MMM) or if there is no multimedia module (MMM), the phone module (PHM) receives the GPS signal itself.
This parameter displays the longitude of the last received position of the vehicle.
The phone module (PHM) transmits the signal together with other vehicle data when a Volvo On Call service is activated.

SOS button
The switches for ON CALL and SOS are located on the bracket for the tail lamp.
Not pressed = The control module does not interpret the button as being pressed in.
Pressed in = The control module interprets the button as being pressed in.

On Call button
The switches for ON CALL and SOS are located on the bracket for the tail lamp.
Not pressed = The control module does not interpret the button as being pressed in.
Pressed in = The control module interprets the button as being pressed in.

Antenna signal (Volvo on Call)
The parameter indicates whether the phone module (PHM) uses the external or the internal antenna. The internal antenna is a spare antenna and is only found for phone modules (PHM) with Volvo On Call functionality. The spare antenna is only used when a Volvo On Call service is activated and the standard antenna is not working.
Internal antenna = the internal spare antenna is used
External antenna = the external antenna is used

GSM signal strength (markets with GSM only)
This parameter indicates the signal strength for GSM phone modules (PHM).
Measurement range 0 -31.
The value of the signal strength depends on the coverage and geographical location of the vehicle.
The value for normal coverage/reception should be approximately 20-25.

GSM IMEI number (markets with GSM only)
This parameter displays the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identification) of the phone module (PHM).
The parameter will not be a valid value for non GSM phone modules (PHM).

Hint: GSM market phone modules (PHM) have a SIM card holder installed in the glove compartment.

The IMEI number can also be read off from the text window for the driver information module (DIM). To do this, enter *#06# on the keypad for the climate control module (CCM).

Capacity of the emergency battery (Volvo On Call)
The parameter indicates the remaining capacity of the internal emergency battery, which is only installed if the phone module (PHM) has Volvo On Call functionality. the emergency battery is only used upon activation of the Volvo On Call service if the standard power supply is missing. The remaining capacity is calculated by the phone module (PHM).
Measurement range 0-100%. 100% is full capacity.
The phone module (PHM) stores a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) when the capacity drops to 30%.
- 0% corresponds to 0 minutes call time
- 10% corresponds to approximately 5 minutes call time
- 20% corresponds to approximately 10 minutes call time
- 30% corresponds to approximately 15 minutes call time
- 40-50% corresponds to approximately 20 minutes call time
- 60% corresponds to approximately 30 minutes call time
- 70-100% corresponds to more than 30 minutes call time.
