Fuel tank draining

Preparatory work

Disconnecting the battery negative lead
Disconnect the battery negative cable. See: Battery disconnecting and connecting Battery Disconnecting and Connecting.

Draining

Draining fuel tank





Warning! Explosion risk. Use a fresh air mask.

Insert the hose: 951 2896 Hose 951 2896 Hose with protective pipe: 951 2908 Protective pipe 951 2908 Protective Pipe to protect the restriction washer in the fuel filler pipe.
Turn the hose whilst sliding it downwards so that it clears any obstacles.
Connect the hose to a fuel extractor.
Pump until air comes out.

Warning! Always follow the instructions for the fuel extractor to avoid accidents.

Remove the hose.

Note! Carefully pull out the hose to prevent damage to the evacuation valve.
