Resistance Too Low
Resistance too low. Intermittent fault
Intermittent fault
- Ignition off.
Warning! Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected, non-deployed, pyrotechnical airbag. This could deploy the airbag!
Caution! Do not touch the terminal pins in the SRS control module. There is a risk of static discharge. This could damage the SRS control module.
Check the connectors for:
- 2-pin
- the SRS control module.
check for contact resistance and oxidation. See Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring And Terminals. Intermittent Faults. Check for loose connections. See Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring And Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Check the cable between the SRS control module terminal #4A (4) and the 2-pin connector terminal #1 for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring And Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Check the cable between the SRS control module terminal #3A (3) and the 2-pin connector terminal #2 for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring And Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Remedy as necessary.
Other information:
- To access and replace the SRS control module and the connector, see Control module SRS (supplemental restraint system), replacing Service and Repair
- To connect the breakout box, see Connecting the breakout box Connecting The Breakout Box
- With the ignition off and the 2-pin connector disconnected, the resistance between terminals #1 and #2 on the 2-pin connector (SRS control module side) and ground should be infinite
- With the ignition off and the 2-pin connector disconnected, the resistance between terminals #1 and #2 on the 2-pin connector (SRS control module side) should be approximately 22 kohms.

If the fault is intermittent, do not verify fault-tracing if the fault does not recur.
It is possible to view the information again, or leave fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC).
