Power Tailgate Motor Test




Power Tailgate Motor Test

1. Open the tailgate and remove the left rear side trim panel Interior Trim Removal / Installation - Rear Side Area.

2. Disconnect the 2P connector (A) from the power tailgate motor (B).





3. Close the tailgate manually.

4. Check the motor operation by connecting battery power to the terminal No. 1 and ground to the terminal No. 2. The motor should run (tailgate open).

NOTE: Be careful not to pinch your hands.

5. After opening the tailgate, connect battery power to the terminal No. 2 and ground the terminal No. 1. The motor should run (tailgate closed).

6. If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace the power tailgate drive unit Service and Repair.
