Rear Side Airbag Deactivation, Individual Power Seats

Deactivating

- Remove seat pan => [ Seat Pan ] Individual Power Rear Seats.

• The left and right side airbags can only be switched off together. It is not possible to switch side airbags off individually.

• There is one harness connector each at left and right on door sill side of seat frame.

- Press catches - 2 - and disconnect connector - 1 -.





- Secure loose connectors with cable ties.

Vehicles without head-level airbag

- Remove rear wheelhousing trim => [ Rear Wheel Housing Trim ] Trim.

- Disconnect harness connector to crash sensors at C-pillar => [ Rear Side Curtain Airbag Crash Sensor ] Rear Side Curtain Airbag Crash Sensor.

All vehicles

- Install seat pan => [ Seat Pan ] Individual Power Rear Seats.

Deactivated Rear Side Airbag Label

- Place sticker for deactivated side airbag - 1 - on left and right at door frame - 2 - of rear doors - arrow -.





- If other countries require more labels, affix these above the sticker shown in illustration.

- Change coding of airbag control module to the code for no rear side airbags.

- Fill out registration card and send to responsible distributor or importer for registration. Place page 3 of registration card in customer's vehicle wallet.

Activating

- Remove seat pan => [ Seat Pan ] Individual Power Rear Seats.

• The left and right side airbags can only be switched on together. It is not possible to switch side airbags on individually.

• There is one harness connector each at left and right on door sill side of seat frame.

- Cut through connector cable ties.

- Connect the connector for side airbag - 1 -.





Vehicles without head-level airbag

- Remove rear wheelhousing trim => [ Rear Wheel Housing Trim ] Trim.

- Connect harness connector to crash sensors at C-pillar => [ Rear Side Curtain Airbag Crash Sensor ] Rear Side Curtain Airbag Crash Sensor.

- Install rear wheelhousing trim => [ Rear Wheel Housing Trim ] Trim.

All vehicles

- Remove seat pan => [ Seat Pan ] Individual Power Rear Seats.

- Remove switched-off side airbag sticker from rear door frame.

- Remove remaining adhesive from door frame with cleaning solution.

- Change coding of airbag control module to the code for rear side airbags.

- Fill out registration card and send to responsible distributor or importer for registration. Remove sheet 3 of the registration card from the owner information packet for the customer.
