Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Thread repair set (VAS 6027)

Interchangeable threaded plates and threaded holes with wire thread inserts conforming to DIN 8140 (Heli-Coil(R)) are installed to secure the subframe to the body.

Repairing Damaged Threads

If the Heli-Coil(R) thread inserts are damaged, replace them with the next largest size. Observe the following when doing so:

Servicing work may only be performed once per thread.

CAUTION!
Wear protective eyewear when drilling.

The Heli-Coil(R) thread inserts must have a zinc-nickel coating.

Thread insert must be same the length as the threads in body.

Have the thread repair checked by the responsible foreman or next person in charge.

Shavings that remain in the body must be imbedded in wax.

Correct any damage to the underbody sealant layer.
