Left Exhaust Manifold
Removing
- Remove the left front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter. Refer to => [ Left Front Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converter ] Left Front Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converter.
- Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 - for the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 2 (G108) and free up the wire.
• Ignore - 2 -.
- Remove the ribbed belt from the A/C compressor ribbed belt pulley. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.
- Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 - on the left electrohydraulic engine mount solenoid valve (N144).
• Ignore - arrows -.
- Disconnect the connector - 1 - for the wiring leading to the air conditioning compressor clutch solenoid.
Refrigerant can cause serious personal injury.
• Do not open the air conditioning refrigerant circuit.
- Remove A/C compressor bolts - arrows -.
Danger of damaging the refrigerant lines and hoses.
• Do not stretch, kink or bend refrigerant lines and hoses.
- Attach the A/C compressor with the lines still attached to the left side of the vehicle.
- Remove the bolts - 1 through 4 - and remove the heat shield.
- Remove the nuts - 1 - and - 8 - and the heat shield bracket.
- Remove nuts - 2 through 7 - and - 9 - and the exhaust manifold.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Exhaust Manifold Overview ] Exhaust Manifold Overview.
• Replace the seals and self-locking nuts.
- Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts. Refer to => [ Left Exhaust Manifold, Tightening Specifications
and Sequence ] Exhaust Manifold Overview.
- Install the left front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter. Refer to => [ Left Front Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converter ] Left Front Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converter.
- Install the A/C compressor.
- Install the ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.
