Disassembling and assembling/replacing planetary gear set III

Refer to Multi-Disc Brakes D/G Multi-Disc Brakes D/G





Arrangement of planetary gear set III





Remove special tool 24 1 250.
Stand the complete unit upright (output end facing upwards).





Remove circlip.





Lift parking interlock gear.





Lift off thrust bearing.





Installation:
Attach thrust bearing to parking interlock with grease. The thrust bearing is centered if the groove for the locking ring is visible with the parking interlock gear installed.





Remove sun gear.





Lift off thrust bearing.





Lift out planet carrier.





Remove thrust bearing.





Lift off ring gear with ring gear carrier.





Note: With locking ring removed, hollow gear can be lifted off hollow gear carrier.





Installation:
Insert ring gear in input clutch "F" and move gently to and from until all discs engage in one another.
If assembly is correct, discs must move easily in recess





Installation: Note thrust bearing beneath hollow gear.
