Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Adapter Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve adapter pipe bolt.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Remove the EGR valve. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement).
5. Remove the EGR valve outlet pipe. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Outlet Pipe Replacement (Service and Repair).




6. Remove the EGR valve adapter bolts.
7. Remove the EGR valve adapter.


Installation Procedure




1. Position the EGR valve adapter to the cylinder head.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).

2. Install the EGR valve adapter bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

3. Raise the vehicle.




4. Install the EGR valve adapter pipe bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb in).

5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Install the EGR valve outlet pipe. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Outlet Pipe Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Install the EGR valve. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement).
