Supercharger Inlet Duct Assembly Replacement
Removal Procedure
Important: The following procedure is for removal and installation of both the front and rear section of the supercharger inlet duct assembly.
1. The front section of the supercharger inlet duct assembly can be serviced independently of the rear section.
2. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement) .
Important: There is a positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose fitting on the underside of the supercharger inlet duct.
4. Disconnect the PCV hose fitting (1) from the underside of the inlet duct assembly. Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Loosen the rear screw clamps (2) located between the front and rear section of the inlet duct assembly.
6. Remove the ball studs (1) that retain the inlet duct to the supercharger. There are a total of 6 ball studs.
7. Remove the front section of the supercharger inlet duct.
8. Remove the hood assembly. Refer to Hood Replacement (Service and Repair) .
9. Remove the windshield wiper arm assemblies. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement (Service and Repair) .
10. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
11. Remove the windshield wiper motor module assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement (Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement) .
12. Remove the front air inlet housing panel (1). Refer to Air Inlet Housing Front Panel Replacement (Air Inlet Housing Front Panel Replacement) .
13. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) line fitting (2) from the EVAP valve.
14. Disconnect the EVAP line fitting (5) from the chassis bundle. Remove the EVAP line (6) from the vehicle.
15. Remove the brake booster hose (1) from the port on the rear of the supercharger.
16. Loosen the rear screw clamp (4) on the inlet duct seal.
17. Remove the rear section of the supercharger inlet duct from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the rear section of the supercharger inlet duct assembly to the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .
2. Tighten the rear screw clamp (4) on the inlet duct seal.
Tighten the supercharger inlet seal screw clamp to 2.5 N.m (20 lb in).
3. Install the brake booster hose (1) to the port on the rear of the supercharger.
4. Connect the EVAP line fitting (5) to the chassis bundle.
5. Connect the (EVAP) line fitting (2) to the EVAP valve.
6. Install the front air inlet housing panel (1). Refer to Air Inlet Housing Front Panel Replacement (Air Inlet Housing Front Panel Replacement) .
7. Install the windshield wiper motor module assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement (Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement) .
8. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
9. Install the windshield wiper arm assemblies. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement (Service and Repair) .
10. Install the hood assembly. Refer to Hood Replacement (Service and Repair) .
11. Install the front section of the supercharger inlet duct to the vehicle.
12. Tighten the inlet duct screw clamps (2).
Tighten the supercharger inlet seal screw clamps to 2.5 N.m (20 lb in).
13. Install the ball studs (1) that retain the inlet duct to the supercharger. There are a total of 6 ball studs.
Tighten the supercharger inlet duct ball studs to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
14. Connect the PCV hose fitting (1) to the underside of the inlet duct assembly. Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement (Service and Repair) .
15. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement) .
16. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement (Service and Repair) .
