Instrument Panel Compartment Lamp Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning Battery Disconnect Warning.


1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary).

2. Open the instrument panel compartment.





3. Insert a suitable tool under the instrument panel compartment lamp assembly (1) and gently pry the lamp assembly from the instrument panel compartment.





4. Disconnect the instrument panel compartment lamp (2) electrical connectors (1) and remove the lamp.

5. Bend back the contact lever (4) that secures the bulb (3) and remove the bulb from the lamp (2).

Installation Procedure





1. Install the new bulb (3) to the lamp (2), ensuring that the bulb is correctly positioned in the contact lever (4).

2. Connect the instrument panel compartment lamp (2) electrical connectors (1).





3. Feed the lamp assembly (1) wiring into the cavity and push the instrument panel compartment lamp back into the instrument panel compartment cavity. Listen for an audible click to confirm fitting.

4. Close the instrument panel compartment.

5. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary).

6. Check all vehicle lights for correct operation.
