Fuel Tank - Installation






INSTALLATION





1. Install the fuel tank straps (1) to the vehicle.
2. Secure the fuel tank onto a transmission jack or equivalent and raise the fuel tank (3) into position on the vehicle.
3. Install the straps (1) and fuel tank strap bolts (2). Tighten the fuel tank strap bolts to 47 Nm (34.5 ft. lbs.). Ensure the fuel tank straps are not twisted or bent.





4. Install the parking brake cable mounting to the fuel tank strap.





5. Install the parking brake cable mounting to the fuel tank strap.





6. Connect the fuel fill tube to the fuel tank inlet. Tighten the clamp to 4.1 Nm (38 in. lbs.).





7. Connect the fuel filler tube recirculation vent line and purge line.





8. Connect the vapor canister line.





9. Install the splash shield.





10. Install the splash shield.





11. Install the muffler Installation.





12. Install the fuel pump module Fuel Tank - Installation.
13. Fill the fuel tank with clean fuel and install fuel filler cap.
14. Connect the negative battery cable and tighten nut to 5 Nm (4.5 in. lbs.).

NOTE: After servicing the fuel system, one or more Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) may have been stored in Powertrain Control Module (PCM) memory due to disconnecting fuel pump module circuit. A diagnostic scan tool must be used to erase a DTC.

15. Use the scan tool to pressurize the fuel system. Check for leaks.
