AB11 - Check Continuity of PIP Circuit

- Key "OFF".

- Breakout box installed.

- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

- Measure resistance between test pin 56 at breakout box and PIP circuit at Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor.

- Disconnect Ignition Control Module (ICM) (Pins 1-6).

- Measure resistance between test pin 56 at breakout box and PIP circuit at ICM connector.

- Is resistance less than 5.0 ohms?

Yes -- Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Refer to Ignition Systems.

No -- Service open circuit. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
