Test H: DTCs C1140 and C1446 - Hydraulic Base Brake Failure and Brake Switch Circuit Failure

Pinpoint Test H: DTCs C1140 and C1446 - Hydraulic Base Brake Failure and Brake Switch Circuit Failure
Refer to Vehicle/Diagrams, Vehicle Dynamic Systems for schematic and connector information.

Refer to Vehicle/Diagrams, Instrument Cluster for schematic and connector information.

Normal Operation
The anti-lock brake system (ABS) module receives brake pedal switch status from the powertrain control module (PCM) over the high speed communication area network (HS-CAN) bus. If there is a failure in the switch or the HS-CAN bus diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C1446 will be set. A low fluid level condition in the master cylinder or a failure of the brake fluid level switch will also cause DTC C1446 to set.

Possible Causes
^ Circuit open
^ Brake fluid level
^ Brake fluid level switch
^ Brake pedal position switch
^ ABS module
