Normal Operation
The restraints control module (RCM) monitors the driver seat track position sensor circuits. If the RCM detects a short to battery, it will store diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C1982 in memory and send a message to the instrument cluster module to illuminate the air bag warning indicator.

Possible Causes
A driver seat track position sensor short to battery fault can be caused by:
- damaged wiring, terminals or connectors.
- RCM is faulted.
